Early Lessons & A Promise That Lasted
Some people spend their lives building businesses. Jonathan has spent his life building opportunities for others.
Long before Inspired Life. Long before mortgages. Long before entrepreneurship. He learned one lesson that would shape the rest of his life. People deserve better.
At 19 years old, Jonathan purchased his first home. It should have been one of the most exciting moments of his life. Instead, he was taken advantage of by the builder, the lender, and the loan officer. It wasn’t until years later, after beginning his own career in the mortgage industry, that he fully understood what had happened.
He made a promise that day. No family he worked with would ever have to make one of life’s biggest financial decisions without understanding their options. Education would always come before paperwork. Honest advice would always come before closing a loan. Doing the right thing would always come before doing the easy thing.
More than thirty years later, that promise still guides everything he does.
A Foundation Built on Healing
Long before mortgages became his career, healthy living had already become part of his life. Jonathan’s grandfather was one of Tucson’s pioneering Doctors of Osteopathy and was known as one of the last physicians in the city to make house calls. His grandmother believed in caring for the whole person through natural healing.
Growing up, Jonathan learned that health isn’t something you chase after you lose it. It’s something you protect every day.
That philosophy became deeply personal after surviving a devastating automobile accident in 2011. Ejected from a rolling vehicle after being run off the freeway by a tractor trailer, Jonathan suffered severe head trauma and internal injuries. His recovery took more than a year.
He had to learn how to walk correctly again. How to write again. How to perform everyday tasks most people never think about.
Watching both himself and his daughter recover reinforced something he had believed his entire life. The body was designed to heal.
That experience didn’t change his philosophy. It strengthened it.
Building Inspired Life
In 2018, Jonathan founded Inspired Life Mortgage with one goal. Create a mortgage company built on education, honesty, and responsible homeownership. A place where clients understand every option before making one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
In November of 2021, Jonathan and Rachel reached one of the defining moments of their lives. They had the opportunity to build Inspired Life entirely around their own philosophy of care. They kept the patients. They kept the name. They took the essentials and started a new chapter.
In a single 500-square-foot office, they began building the Inspired Life they had imagined for years. The office was small. The freedom was enormous.
For the first time, every decision reflected what they believed healthcare should be. Patients immediately noticed the difference. They didn’t talk about the size of the office. They talked about the atmosphere.
Again and again they said, “Rachel…you’re so happy.”
They were. Because Inspired Life had finally become the practice they had always dreamed of building.
Today, Jonathan focuses on building the systems, culture, and vision that allow every provider at Inspired Life to deliver exceptional care. Rachel helps people heal. Jonathan builds the environment that allows that healing to happen.
Together, they continue building Inspired Life into an organization that will serve generations of families long after they have stepped away.
Life Beyond the Office & A Lasting Legacy
Outside the office, Jonathan enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking for large family gatherings, spending time on the ocean whenever he gets the chance, and making memories with Rachel, their family, and their four dogs.
Friends affectionately call them “The Inspireds.” Not because of the business they built. Because the life they encourage others to live is the same life they choose every day.
For Jonathan, success has never been measured by the number of loans closed, offices opened, or patients served. It’s measured by something much simpler.
Did someone leave better than they arrived?
If the answer is yes, it was a good day.
He believes every day is an opportunity to become a better version of yourself. To leave people better than you found them. To leave this world a little better than you found it.
That’s the legacy he’s working to build.
